“Patrick Street Clinic is an accredited general medical practice in the north-west Tasmanian coastal town of Ulverstone employing 8 doctors and 12 staff. The practice was established many years ago by two of the practitioners, who, in the 1960’s, were partly responsible for the establishment of the RACGP.
We are a teaching practice offering private billing with an emphasis on quality of care for patients. The practice is fully computerised, using Medical Director, Pracsoft billing and appointments. Documents, letters and notes are scanned to patient’s file. We have 24 hour internet access.
We are currently running a terminal server environment, with one server, and with 15 PCs. We also have specialist medical devices that connect to some of these PCs. Every week a doctor uses medical applications remotely and synchronises them with the server data.
We are in an industry that relies fully on our computer systems – all patient data is stored electronically on our server and needs to be readily available at all times. It is also extremely important that we have up to date, reliable backups.
Communications with external medical providers (pathology, HIC) is vital, and Anderson Morgan have assisted us when connection problems have arisen.
Anderson Morgan has supplied all of our systems since 2003 and other hardware. We also have a 4 hour response support contract with them, but most calls have been responded to within half hour. Anderson Morgan has provided us with prompt and helpful service that is relevant and easy to understand. They have also assisted in the transition of a major upgrade of our practice management software.

I guess, if you are reading this, you are considering using the services of Anderson Morgan. All I can say is get them on board as soon as you can!
Anderson Morgan came recommended to me personally by another company as we were starting to run into difficulties with our network setup as we were expanding. Our office is very reliant on the internet, email and the network. Previously, I was in charge of setting up new computers, fixing problems etc but I found it was very time consuming taking me away from running the business and was not cost effective.
Rob McDowell met with me in March 2004 and offered a solution - a Managed Network Service for Small/Medium Business. We were promised the world - time frames for network problems to be fixed, help with software and email issues, advice etc. and I can guarantee that they “Say what is - not what’s not”
Over the last year, we have run into difficulties, some outside our control (mainly internet and email issues through an ISP), added more computers, installed a reliable backup system and we have had minimal downtime. All my staff have access to “Support Calls” and I have received excellent advice on software, hardware, backups etc.
I find that Anderson Morgan has a more proactive than reactive approach. Many a time I have received phone calls letting me know that something is not working quite right even before we were aware and are advised when backups are not done.
